Hi all,

I'm looking for so advice with a soil pipe in my house.

What i want to do is remove it or relocate it. I only have 1 bathroom in the house and this soil pipe drops from here all the way down through the kitchen into the floor. I'm not worried about it going through the kitchen.

A basin is already connected into this soil pipe aswell, but my bath runs to a drain outside.

I was thinking of cutting the metal pipe and instead of the soil pipe going up to vent fitting a 3" or 2" sink pipe on top of it so i have less to hide or then build this into the wall?

Or fitting a air admittance valve but how high do these need to be?

I don't want to get a plumber in for such a simple job that i know i can do myself but will just slightly longer.

Thanks

It may look like a simple job even with advice given but without the tools and experience it could go horribly wrong for you pricie.

ok looks like i have no choose, can you guess what a plumber would charge for something like this?

Not without seeing it and price`s vary across the country, best to arrange for a few quotes.

Also if you wanna go the full hog move the stack outside and dig outside and alter the drain

The first part is pretty easy but the new air admittance pipe should be boxed in with stud work not bricked or plastered in. An AIV must be no lower than the highest waste outlet on that floor, eg the basin over flow
