hi guys

Been registered for 4 and a half years now and end of next month im back to college to re-sit all my gas exmas :eek:mg_smile:

As this is my first time ive done a re-sit whats it like? is it as bad as the first time you take the gas exams?? ive heard that its only about half what you do for re-sits as its more to update what you all ready know,

guess what im saying is what should i swat up on ect,

its just the unknowen haveing never done it before!

Thanks

Get your head in your books, leave nothing to chance as its not cheap.

if your working with gas its standard stuff and you can work through it relatively easily. The last time I done mine it was the theory questions that took a bit of thinking about as they try to catch you out with the way there worded.

good luck

What's the best books to read? I got a corgi book and a viper book, bit there not the newest lol

You should be getting new books. Calm down dear, it's only a test!

Seriously though you should breeze through it

It's always abit daunting so I can understand your concern. But you've done the hard part 5 years ago. Each time I've renewed it's seemed less stressful. Just take your time, read the questions twice, ignore what everyone else is doing and just take your time. And don't answer your phone in the middle of the written test... They hate that!

Last time I done mine there was a man there his hands were shaking throughout

where I do my exams, you drink your coffee,do the test pop out for phone calls and alls well. All the books needed are there by the desk so not a problem really

Haha a guy threw up one of the times i was doing my ACS he was so worried..... he was commercial having to do his CCN1' I helped him big time........I ate all his sandwiches so his mrs would not be annoyed about the waste!

Funnily enough I had to do my CCN1 this time round as well as my commercial. Didn't bother me. But then for the practicals I was paired off with a young lad who was on his first time. Guess that helped.

Thing was John this guy just mended burners, Nuway, Riello, weishaupt etc he knew his stuff, but was lost on the core, it made him poorly, he confessed he had not slept right on the build up.....

All the guys are in the same position. I felt like i had some vodka shots when i was driving home ,head was spinning !!!! to much info to take in!

I had to re-sit mine 6 months ago!

the biggest pain was that water heaters are now part of the boiler module!, so because I did not have water heaters I could NOT sit boilers!!! Had to do water heater module on a different day which was extra of course!

what thats stupid! its bad enough i got to take a week off work as im self employed so not going to make any money that week and not i have to sit water heaters as well!

Got mine at the end of this month. I've been going to the same place for 15 years so we all know each other.
They supply all the books for the tests and I usually buy the latest up to date book they are flogging (viper manual last time) and I have to say it was very good.
I keep the manual in my van for reference as and when needed and very easy to find what you need quickly.
Good luck

Yeah I felt the same! I have never even been asked to look at a water heater so definitely did not want it, but I could not do boilers without it! So if you don't have water heaters at the moment then you will probs need to pay for practical on that... I hate training centres! Lol!

Isnt it bizarre that gas chaps have to be fleeced periodically and re-assessed and yet doctors and surgeons are deemed qualified when they...err...qualify..double standards.
