Dan the plumber
Hey all,
Bit of advice needed please.
Was called out to a job yesterday where the customer was reporting bad smells coming back up into the upstairs bathroom.
The customer had his house refurbed the back end of last year and the plumber had created/installed a new bathroom downstairs and moved locations upstairs, hence re-ran the soil stack internally.
Basically, the plumber never installed an air admittance valve during installation hence is now causing syphonage from the shower trap every time the toilet is flushed.
Simple solution would be to install an air admittance valve right? Problem is, the "plumber" never calculated where both up & down stairs suits would be fitted before cementing in the soil stack, hence has had to use flexi pan connectors for the toilets.
Any suggestions regarding installing an air admittance valve that incorporates the flexi pan connector!? Space is very limited on either side of the wc upstairs & customer has the hidden waste style toilet but have advised may need to change this for another style!
Thanks all & hope this makes sense-lol
