Well folks, Christmas time has been and gone, and I've decided to treat myself to some new kit - too big for action men so I get all excited these days drooling over the tool catalogues.

Anyway, I do need some new copper benders, my old hilmores have seen better days, and suddenly, this new fangled contraption has caught my eye. the ridged 236 ratchet pipe bender. never seen anything like it. it's similar to the big ridged hydraulic benders in shape and style, only its hand held and can do 10 to 22mm copper.

Anyone ever tried one of these bad boys? looking at you tube vids they look pretty smart, and more user friendly than my old benders, but at 180 quid a pop, I wouldn't mind getting a bit more low down on it before I spend my cash.
Any advice?

Have you got a link, I'm intrigued but can't find the ridgid 236?

Can't find a 236, but there is a 326. This is a hand-held ratchet bender but is designed for SOFT copper tube, not Table X half hard like ordinary 15/22mm stuff.

Looks like a tool for girls... Plus who uses soft copper lol!?

Us oil boys :)

op ive used this tool, its sat at the back of my trainers lock up now.
had it for 22mm soft copper for an oil set up.

even then i found it a touch redundant as it was faster to do it by hand. I imagine the air con lads would like it for pre forming copper.

no use to you to replace hand benders :)
