hi all im having trouble with a riello burner, when starting up it will just ignite for a few secounds then go out and ignite again for a few secounds etc, have checked ,solenoid, photocell, capacitor and control box all of which are working any sugestions please

How do you know the 4 things you have checked are working?
And why did you check the capacitor as the burner is actually starting and igniting you say?

I took off all 4 items and put them on another burner and it started first go as for the capacitor I was just double checking for my own peace of mind

try taking the bits off the other burner and using them on the duff one, normally the photocell is the issue

Since you put all 4 items on another burner and it started no problem, then I think I know exactly what is wrong with your burner and it is very common.
You really need to get an oil engineer in and tell them the symptoms and if they are genuinely experienced they'll sort it straight away. The boiler will need tested and perhaps serviced anyhow.

Oh do tell you tease :)

I think we'll close the thread there before there's blood.

OP, please call in a competent person before you cause irreparable damage or, worse, kill someone.
