high guys,
i hope i am not been to cheeky here but is there anybody outthere that has a genera risk assessment for bathroom fitting, ie hot and cold water. Thanks

I have one for each operation, eg. soldering fittings, using power tools, using jigsaw, drill, hand tools, pipe cutting etc etc. Therefore each one will be valid in whatever task you are doing where it is used.

hello whpes, what will it cost me to get these from you. im been assessed next week on a bathroom swap, never done a risk assessment before.

PM me your email and I'll send you a sample. You can't "buy" ready done ones - it defeats the object and they need to be individual. They're not hard to do. Just takes a bit of thought. There's LOADS of info on the HSE website including http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg163.pdf

whpes

where did you get these from ? made them yourself? surely they are generic, a plumber could use these for his business if he had employees?

No I did them myself. You need to be able to demonstrate that you have identified risks and placed control measures in place. If a case ever came t court and it was found you had simply cribbed them from elsewhere it would count against you.

You cant shortcut this one. They're easy enough to put together, just takes a little while!

thank whpes completed one today easy, just think about the job and the different tasks to be carried out within that job, ie blow torch, then think of what might happen while using it and how to prevent anything happening, simplesss

Typical tasks - soldering copper fittings, jigsaw, drilling, core drilling, handsawing, pipe bending, unblocking drains, working down a manhole, working in a loftspace, working on a roof, leadworking, electric breaker, stonesaw, angle grinder, tile sawing, tiling.

Chemicals include - flux, tile adhesive, grout, solvent weld adhesive, silicone, boss white, sterilising tablets, adhesives.

Remember your control measures include - using a voltage indicator to check a circuit is dead, taping off an area under where you are working to prevent anyone being injured by falling items, the person doing the task has experience and training, personal protective equipment (rigger gloves, goggles, earplugs, safety boots, overalls, rubber gloves etc) Tetanus vaccinations up to date, no smoking eating or drinking on the job, wash overalls after use, good standard of personal hygiene etc etc.
