Just had a builder on the phone saying that the customer still owes him 3.5 grand and the customer is not happy with the HW in house..

As the builder did not want to install a s plan /pumped hw delivery or Unvented the best option was 937 Vaillant to serve two showers/ kitchen and Utility...

Now the customer complains that when he turns on all hot taps he doesn’t get water through all of them at the same time...

Prior to any work being done this same customer managed to flood the place and get all the plastering and loads of other work done on the insurance.

I have been trying to tell the builder he will knock him no matter what he says or does, so the builder is trying to blame me… NO CHANCE MATE..


Told the builder to do one...your problem not mine.
 
sounds like that builder wants to choose his customers not the the other way round, as for that paticular customer i had probs in past now i blatently over price them (on the phone .....not even worth visit......)
 
Did u inform the cust or builder of the limitations of a combi when it comes to hw. If so then it's tough cookies. If not then it's gona be a nitemare to convince the punter. If whoever owes u the cash doesn't pay up, just send a debt collecter round. Saves u the hassle and it doesn't cost much I hear

I don't give that kinda job the time of day, don't even give a price. Not worth it

why the hell would he want to run all the taps at once the ( NO swearing). its a try on
 
I do not work for builders any more ,have not for years,they mess you around,pay late,if at all but someone has to I suppose

When I did ,I insisted I met the customer face to face ,to discuss what their requirements were and explain their options and costs and the consequences of their chose
If they would not let me,I would not dream of doing the works,builders can cause you so much grief and in any case hearing stuff second or third hand,never works,builders used to say to me ,I want it this way ,do it that way,I used to point out,the jobs not for you ,its how the customer wants it that counts within reason
I work with a few builders now,they tell me what they want on top of my price,I put it on and deal direct with customer and give them there share,every thing runs smoothly
I get recommendations to other builder ,they think set up a bit strange but once they know they can trust me and make the same profit,if not more by having job run smoothly ,all ok

I do work for a lot of builders in my area and normally go in on the planning stage a deal direct with the customer ( what do builders know about heating )

This builder is old skool, thinks he knows everything it was my first job for him..and last .
He didnt want me to go vertical with flue as advised, told him re pluming over garden area, i had to put plume management on , didnt look nice.
I plumbed the cloakroom basin up internally on first floor and ran waste to back of toilet .. (Cast in situ) tidy job as agreed, came back to me the customer wanted it run straight out the wall and into soil, re did it ( no charge again) called back, soil pipe leaking investigated the problem, i had bossed into the plastic above the cast which was slated through a flat roof, one of his blokes had cut the cast off square and the dunked the plastic on top with the slate covering it, re done it with rubber gasket, free of charge..

Retro fitted additional towel rail in shower room after pipes were buried in floor and live........"free of charge"

I have registered him for a 5 Warranty on the 937. think i might revoke it as i carry the extended warranty..

More fool the builder for not getting a itemised quote from me and letting me deal with customer ( not that i would have with this customer) everything lies on his shoulders..
