Can anyone help, have removed a number of old rolled top radiators and had them shotblasted and powder coated. Now I can't get bleed nipples back in as threads have an issue. Would like to re-tap out the threads can anyone suggest the thread size, have looked on other sites and the only reference is 1/8 bsp.
Alternative is can anoyone suggest metric screw that will fit thread as brass blead screws are too soft and I just keep destroying the thread.

Hi It may pay to borrow or buy a tap slightly larger than existing. Drill out as to data that surrounds screws and taps. Good Luck

If they were blasted with the screws out its possible the threads are damaged i assume you mean cast iron colum rads ?if so you can change the bushes or the airvent if seperate

i come across stuck bleed valves on old systems often.
i now drill and retap a new hole with 1/8 bsp cap end.
go to your local iron monger, there is a chart with drill sizes and taps that he will have and have to adhere to. if you want to be really clever you could tap to 1/2inch and install a new bleed valve complete.
