Hi all, Just wondering what should i be looking for when only visually inspecting this type of gas fire?

signs of distress, location, clearances, flueing i guess that should do for a visual only

thats what i was thinking. Its just that i have gas safe inspector coming to see me at a property (im a newly registered bussiness) where i have installed a boiler and i dont want to miss anything or panic when he questions me!

first thing is dont panic it aint no big deal he is human after all and with a bit of luck will be a helpful bloke, A nice cuppa is always a good starter ,i have had a few inspections over the years and still dont know everything so chillax

The only other thing I'd add to psk's list is stable and secure.

I had to light the fire and check flame picture and safety device on my inpsection, even though it was just a visual

I had to cancel 2 inspections, got a boiler install coming up so would like to show the guy my install. What kind of stuff would he be asking ? he phoned me yesterday and sounds like he'd be a pain lol

He checked my mate on an install and my mate got asked loads and loads of questions on ventilation and flueing, alot more than I did. When the GS inspector phoned me he sounded like a real jobsworth but when I met him he was sound. We just had a cup of tea and then he watched me service a Worcester. I wouldn't worry to much about it, they are there to help as well as hinder:)

My GS inspector was very friendly and professional. My last inspection i had quite alot of questions on testing safety devices on diffrent types of appliances, mini tightness test etc. Anything i slightly struggled on (mainly due to my poor memory) we talked through and it was all fine.
