J joben1 Messages 30 Oct 20, 2011 #1 Hi, If a room thermostat clicks when it is adjusted does that mean that it is working? It is a Landis & Gyr Rad1.N. The problem I'm having is the boiler fires when hot water is called for, but doesn't when central heating is called for. Cheers Paul

P Puddle Oct 20, 2011 #2 well simple basic tests with a multi meter will tell you if room thermostat is working, however first port of call would be the syncron motor on the c/h motorised valve if on system or do you have a combi ? imho Last edited by a moderator: Oct 20, 2011

T tamz Oct 20, 2011 #5 It will be the pump then. Theremostats don't go wrong much. It is only a switch but it can be easily tested.
