I currently have a downstairs Drayton wheel room thermostat with 4 wires going into it (photo attached)
and I have a digital program controller upstairs next to the hot water tank (photo attached)
I would like to replace the wheel room thermostat with a digital one and hoping someone would recommend a good decent digital room thermostat and give me an idea when it comes to wiring it, without compromising the digital timer upstairs.

Err, yep, I read that.... :)

I meant what is wanted from a room stat? The OP may want a simple Honeywell which can be connected to the existing wiring if using the battery back-up version, or they may have seen the dayglo blue ones which need a permanent live................

It just needs to be a simple thermostat connected to the live feed and that kicks the heating on when the temp. drops below the set level.
