Rw gas fire

Fitted a robison willey balanced flue gas fire today and after install flashed it up comissioned etc . After i finished i left the fire going for a while to help burn of the smell of new appliance but was quite bemused as to how much smoke was coming off appliance , enough to set smoke alarm off. It states in MI's that it smells and will give off smoke for few hours but was surprised it set smoke alarm off . Fitted a few before and never had this so ghas anyone else?

unless theres a bit of packaging stuck in it somewhere smoke is normal,ask your custard to monitor it should settle down after a few hours

yes, have seen it alot. Oil's from manufacturing process i assume. I have had a few cookers that smoked for ages too. Open some windows and ask for a cuppa while it burns off.

currently working on housing mods work, mainly pipework to cookers when kitchen gets redesigned. Half the cookers i see i disconnect due to poor condition. One guy was very upset when i refused to reconnect his cooker even tho he admitted to me it had been on fire the week before and melted all the control knobs. i normall smell of cooking fat at the end of the day

Worked in social housing for 4 years before I do what I do now and I know what you mean. 90% of the people are fine but its the 10% that make life difficult, some people have no pride in appearance etc.

Glad I'm out of it now

all letting agents main contract has 145 houses ,plus alot of private custards tbh i am with a good let agent thats half the battle,tenants drive me up the wall though

Tenants are a nightmare, always wanting something for nothing.

had that last week old baxi wm working well.fga and pressures in spec,bf terminal ncs regarding distance from openings slight corrosion to combustion box tenant thats enough to right it off aint it?(typical brain dead social benefit,aint done a days work ever lazy bas..... i digress ) me no its working perfect,him but its dear to run,me you paying for a new boiler him laughing no i am a tenant me jog on then tonto this ones good for another year by this point he,s phoning a mate gas mans offensive,blah,blah,give me a row and i had to buy gas etc, by the way whos tonto?????????,does he do a good deal on e????????
