Hey, here goes and I hope it works.. never used one of these before!

I have a Sagittarius Ergo mixer shower min bar of pressure required 1 bar.

Connect to this is a 1.5 bar Ora Salamander pump for a positive head, this was connected by a plumber of course and we’ve had it all rigged up correctly by him.

To mention we have a gravity fed system, cold water tank in loft feeds to a hot water tank in an airing cupboard where the pump is fitted.. all was well with the pump however it leaked from under the shower pump so off it went back to the shop for an exchange.

Only this one doesn’t want to work at all unless the smaller shower head is taken down and rested in the bottom of the bath, the shower pump then kicks in, not only that it sounds as though air is in the system from the rattling air noise that killed our old pump (the old pump had been there for some years before we moved in) we have had a flange fitted to help with aeration to the pump however the leaking pump seemed to work well yet the new one doesn’t? It’s the same pump!

Any help is needed, of course we have a plumber who is extremely busy this kind of year of course!

Stnd wrong pump for a high pressure shower

Your shower need a min of 1 bar your system is producing around 0.3 of a bar so can’t overcome the shower so you need a neg / universal pump
