Been to a job this evening customer has paid for saniflow engineer out at £95 + vat call out  there two hours says saniflow fixed but waste is blocked. Shower not flowing toilet not flowing basin not flow! Nowe the waste on the saniflow is in 22mm all hidden what do you reckon is the best way to clear this? I was thinking mains pressure its all boxed in through walls.

Definitely not direct mains pressure, direst off the mains, think back flow, try pressure test force pump in a bucket, but might compact the blockage even more, I would try and work from the back end with what was my favourite small pipe unblocker, a length of bowden cable, you know the stuff straight steel wires with a helical wrapped steel wire outer the wire that is used to open and close remotely high level windows

Wow there's a good tip Plouasne, I have some in the gararge somewhere I'll put it in the van tomorrow. You'll never know when it'll come in handy. :)

If its the same stuff I'm thinking of you can get it from hardware stores, the stuff you measure and cut off yourself Winston.

Thanks guys may have to give it a go, I have been thinking of cutting the 22 and puting a tee with a further length of 22 and drip feeding a chemical down it.

What has gone down the saniflo, to cause it to block??

I was called to an old peoples home, where the proprietors, used to dose the poor old burgers with Fibrogell, nasty stuff that is, like syrup of figs, to move your bowels, but what comes out aint solid, more like a jelly, and the cutter blades just whirl around and pump the mess a bit up the waste pipe and there it sits, setting like a jelly

With trying to introduce chemicals into the waste pipe, you could run the risk of a chemical reaction, with nasty stuff bubbling out of the stand pipe, or being spat out rather violently

Umm well according to the lady a sanitory towel, but I am not convinced that the saniflow is actually working. But not going to know until I can get access to it. All boxed in! not sure how the saniflow guy had the balls to say he has fixed it. It will only be then I can also establish if the 22mm waste is actually blocked.

I am not worried about the time as I knew it was going to be difficult and have given my day rate :D

you are going to have to remove boxings check the saniflow is working,it proberly is not if a sanitary towl has been put down it .never put mains pressure on 22mm waste if it blows apart within boxings you will be liable for any damage caused.

All not going well! The woman is to busy! So after going there last night at 6pm and asked me to unblock and agreed a price and initially putting chemical down she said she would call me to organise what time to go to today. Did she call no? I did, her reply was I am to busy at the weekends can you not sort it from the outside!

I have told her that the chemical cannot be in in there indefinatley well would teusday be ok? No

Am I wrong but you either want me to sort it or you dont, however you need to pay me for my labour and materials to date. What the effin hell she thinks I am going to do in her house if she aint there god only knows. I for one had planned on unblocking her saniflow whilst wearing a pair of her knickers ffs!

I would write her off, as a bad job, let somebody else have the agro, if she can get another person, if not, just let it simmer for a week or so, then name your price to her

What worries me is she wont have a blocked saniflow cos she wont have any pipes left with that 98% sulphoric acid eating away at it

Mind you I did think her knickers would have siuted me you know

That's only battery acid, you should have used Hydrochloric acid, (but only if there was no danger of it meeting any stainless steel) that stuff would have brought tears to her eyes, with the fumes:D

she pay saniflow 95 quid for a repair in her eyes , but did not get it
she should have bell a plumber to do the complete works but she think it may have been a freebie
in her eyes your part of that 95 quid

my law is don't finish some one left overs unless itemise

if you rip her house up the first visit she may of paid you ,
knowing your jobs before you enter the homes helps
sorry but you have now become the second visitor ,and the bathroom is engage

as for you being pay so far ?

good luck

Ah ha she has seen the light probably because of the invoice for labour and materials to date unless she lets me do the job for which she requested to do.

0900 hours operaration saniflow begins :) i have also been thinking of a good solution for this kind of thing. You know that flexible curtain wire for hanging your nets on yer put it into the chuck of your drill and press the trigger! my wife thinks I have developed an obsession with unblocking toilets and that I have consumed to much cider!:(

i think not I can see dragon den approaching :D

As long as your wife thinks your obsession is with unblocking toilets and not your customers knickers your laughing;)

So she has agreed to 'let you' come and fix her excremental mess?

What ingnorance!

Make sure you charge her more Winston for being awkward and messing you about.

I've found most people tend to trust me in their house while they're out, I've got the keys to a house at the moment, they're on holiday and I'm doing their cloakroom. Small job mind.

Well operation saniflow done well sort of Ive done my bit cleared the pipe, but the pump must have gone I dont reckon the saniflow engineer did sfa!

:D Mind you not bad for a sunday £200 for the saniflow £100 for a blocked sink, cant believe people live the way they do though it took 3 yes 3 litres of chemical and a sink wire to get through it completeley full of carp and fat

Plus another £50 for a dripping tundish that was broken when originally fitted all in a days work for Winston :D
