Hi All

I have searched the site for tips and advice for the above issue and followed some of the processes give by may of the members but now need a bit more advice before as need to keep heating on over Christmas and i will replace the boiler then.

My problem is get 0.8bar on digital pressure gauge, all good heating and hot water. Put heating on for and hour pressure builds up to approx 1.6bar. The over night loose pressure to 0.4bar (no hot water or heating boiler in fault) but when re-pressurizing the system it takes about 15-20 mins for pressure to build up to 0.6bar ok pressure. Also get a lot of water passing out of the reduced pressure zone valve when filling system up again seems not correct.

Suspecting PRV so as described put a plastic bag under overflow pipe outside, (this has being going on for a week or 2) found some mornings had say 2 cup fulls of water in and other days none but all time bolier pressure low.

Done check on expansion vessel again go hand down back to tyre valve and pushed pin no water came out but some air noise?? (Will need to check pressure).

I have also noticed the automatic air vent on the top of the pump has water around which has gone also left deposits of limescale around this unit could this be the issue. I also removed the screw from the top of it dried water away then switched heating on for a while then off and found the water building up in the screw hole.

I know many people are going to give "that boiler is :nono:" and "you should get a gas engineer to look at it" but would like a direction so am not charged for all kinds of parts and labour which may not be required.

Thanks Guys

Ellogg

You need a gsr. Not a diy repair. And no, we won't give you any clues so don't pm me explaining that.

Oh, and this forum has a no swearing policy. Don't do it again
