Three delivered today and all of them damaged, one was hanging half way out of the box and was visibly scrap.

Im a fool to myself as I have this problem everytime but keep thinking next time will be okay.

I truly believe not a single one leaves the factory without being purposely wacked with a hammer just before they are packed.

:mad2:

bit like a landrover defender phil then , its not a real landie unless it has a dint init lol

i got one before Christmas, all OK, ordered valves also thinking they would come together, oh no, rad am, valves pm!

Got to order 2 more as I dont have a van but will go to buy valves!

I prefer to order online and go and pick them up in my local branch.

I prefer radson radiators as they look neater on the corners

Yes one was obviously damaged by Parcel Force, but the other two were in perfect boxes with reinforced corners but after unpacked revealled the all too familier creased side grillls.

Stopped using Screwfix rads two years ago, fed up with every single one being damaged or brackets missing.

i was asked to fit a 600x1800 double from screwfix a while ago. When i turned up and unpacked the radiator the 2 panels had come apart from each other at the ends. The packaging was perfect. I would not recommend them to anyone after seeing that.

i have stopped getting rads from screwfix for exactly the same reasons they appear perfectly well packaged until you unpack them to find damage which must have happened before packing.

I buy the loss leaders from screwfix but everything else I buy
from my supplier or specialist shops.

I've found if you use local suppliers a lot the service is normally better and you don't pay that much more.

You are better using your local merchants. If they stock stelrad softlines they are cheap as chips. Like a compact with bevelled edges. Look good.

It's been three or four years since I used screw fix rads due to the very same reason. Ordered 4 and 3 were damaged, packaging was untouched. Even one of the three that were replaced was damaged.

I must have been very lucky. I bought perhaps 10 or 15 rads from screwfix over the last few years (never more than 2 at a time) and all have been fine.
