Ok so you've read the title and gotta this far so maybe you can lend a hand

This is my summer project for quiet days and weekends

I am not a builder or brick layer but expect my practicle skills to be able to accopmlish this

Im not sure if there is a builders forum or a Tom wants to build him self a BBQ forum but I want it in here as i like you guys and trust your guidance

Looking at brick built jobby all myself, supplier will probs be Travis for materials

Has anyone done this and can provide any hints or tips, i have repaired the odd wall on a drvieway so I feel capable, its for myself anyway!

So any tricks of the trade or handy hints you can think, i want it simple but to last some time, it will be free standing and probs want 2 foot width grill

Much obligued!!!!

How's about a Belfast sink beside it so you can do the washing up?

😛

Yes, buiit one. Ugly monstrosity. Rained all summer (2008) and never got used so took a sledgehammer to it and planted some pretty plants there instead.

Don't put such a permanent carbuncle in your garden - just get a portable one you can stow away when not needed. They're not exactly expensive.

I want a man challenge for the summer though otherwise i will waist time paint the garage or something

I'm looking for the old garden party conversation: 'oh it was nothing really, just threw a few bricks together'

you can buy one of these in kit form with m.i from wikes (where the plumbers buy)hehe.

dont you just love bbqs half cooked chicken burnt sausages and burgers like frizbies and a good dose of the trots next day

i was just on about this to my missis over dinner, after bricking up a wall today... interior wall, being plastered over so didnt have to be perfect, i was up for the challenge til my missus knocked me down a peg or 2 - well im gonna shock the lot of them! not sure what i have to do except by the interior parts and measure off them what i need in bricks etc....

i like bbq season after a nice hot day and a good feed😀 sitting in the garden with a bottle of red and a few beers chilling🙂

cant believe you havnt built it yet !
i love barby season - with any luck starting on sunday in blackpool!
should last a good 6 weeks.
