Is it me or is he just an a******?

Always banging on about some stupid water heaters he has, and that he leaves his heating on 24/7 with no stats in his mansion that's so cold you can see your breath.

I personally think he’s a bit of a *****. Some of his suggestions are viable solutions in the right situation. Instantaneous hot water heaters as he mentions them are a reasonable solution to hot water generation in high demand/constant demand.places like gyms, factories, restaurants etc etc but arguing they are suitable in a small domestic dwelling with very little water demand is complete madness.
He seems set in stone with no room for movement. I would just ignore him from now on. You know what he’s like, if you allow him to Sod you off it’s your fault.
If he really was a heating engineer he would have relevant qualifications to suit. I bet he can’t provide evidence of any.

Combi Comparison - any real life experiences?

Read some of the threads and reply's in this thread.

- my reply's are interesting.

Very interesting. Hadn't seen that one. He does use a lot of words to say very little and then says he didnt use the words.

He sums up his complete lack of knowledge on plumbing and heating by not understanding your comment on a 25m to 26m index gas run.

Many many moons ago my wife opened up a laundrette. Northern gas networks ask for total loading of drivers and water heating. Told me I needed inch and a quarter supply.
He sounds like the blokes that came out to install it with a three quarter inch pipe.

I just ignore the cockwomble now.

@ShaunCorbs Have we finally banned him? 🤣
I think he’s deleting posts rather than having been banned? I do wish he would sod off though. He ruffles too many feathers and doesn’t keep it professional. It’s not a good look for the forum when genuine homeowners in need join to seek time served advice only to be caught in the middle of him and his obnoxious responses.

Yes as yours was in regards to his and it wouldn’t make sense without his

That’s fair enough. I’ve done no wrong and it was only a response to him so I don’t care it was deleted. I’d urge you to ban his account but unfortunately unless he’s being abusive in any way there’s nothing saying you can really.

Oh thank god. Like I said above it’s not good for the forum to have someone like him contributing. His solutions were only ever viable in the minuscule of situations. I’ve actually had several conversations about him outside of this group, some of whom you know that agree his proposals are madness. The problem with him is he’s adamant about his proposals and then gets nasty, almost childish when people disagree. Anyone in any trade knows customer relations is just as important as the work you carry out. His attitude stinks quite frankly.

He wasn't an engineer. Bit of a chip on his shoulder about my being public school educated (which I'm not) but we got over that and we actually had an amicable conversation by PM. From what I can gather he worked in the legal profession for a bit but got tired of it. Not sure exactly who he was, but I found his contributions to threads a bit strange on many occasions.

Got tired of the legal profession or was politely removed? With an attitude like his I suspect the latter. I would not want anyone acting on my legal behalf acting like he does.

He said the legal profession was lazy and most of the time people were just varying stock documents and charging a lot for it. What is interesting is that he suggests he left the profession early, yet elsewhere he claims he was a barrister, which presumably takes some time.

Double firsts maybe, be not easy to communicate with. My cousin is a bit of a genious and has a PhD in Computing. Part owner of a company with over a hundred employees. Workaholic and doesn't much like socialising, but good company when you can get him out of the office. Completely down to earth and never makes me feels stupid or uneducated when I tell him my computer's broken. Which makes me wonder how much of what Hometech says is to be believed and how much is his insecurity. Which is a pity, because behind all his bluster, he did have useful things to say.

To become a barrister takes years I believe. There are certain types of jobs out there that require a moral obligation. Medical professionals, judges, police, lawyers etc. Someone holding a position like that should remain professional, courteous and above all safe at all times. If they have an attitude, can’t put their ego aside, can’t be unbiased etc etc then they have no right holding a job like those.
Bit of a saw subject for me and I won’t go into on here but I strongly believe certain types of jobs should not be left open for everyone. Like I said above I would not consider having someone like him represent me legally, no good would ever come from it.
