IMG_2963.jpgI am fitting a built in washing machine in the utility room, and all was going well until it came to the washing machine trap. I've used standard washing machine traps before, however, there are a couple of 22mm copper pipes that run horizontally across the wall, which are flow and return for an UFH manifold. As these are insulated, there isn't the space to run a standard washing machine trap up the wall. If I run it from above the pipes, I have about 11" of downpipe on the trap, and I've read somewhere I need 18" My wife also wants an old shallow butler sink from the garden plumbed in, sitting on top of the worktop. The worktop is 40mm thick and the gap above the washer is 80mm, so I thought a bath trap should fit ok, however I have just learnt about these hepvo valves, would they solve my problems?

Hello and welcome to the forum. I can only view the small image, which is happening to me on other photos, so finding it difficult to see properly.
I am wondering could you not simply fit the washing machine stand pipe and trap, keeping it in front of all the other pipes? The trap is designed to be adjustable for bringing the standpipe out.
Or use a McAlpine sink trap that has the connection tails for washing machine and dishwashers?
