My girlfriends dad has been told that the drain that runs under his dad's drive has cracked and needs replacing.

This drain is the main drain for the village apparently and he has been told that he will have to foot the bill for it (this has come from the **** next door who wants to buy the parking space).

I had the understanding that a shared drain is down to the water board and it's there problem to sort?

Is this right?

got a nice letter from sww a while back informing me of their responsibility for all shared drainage, which will be interesting as all my drains are shared and leaking :)

I am watching thispost As I have a situation with a communal drain turning chamber and a tree root problem!!!.....regards Turnpin:smile5:

All shared drains now come under you water utility company, just had mine jetted and camera for free because it's "shared"
it was blocked.

It's the pleb next-door he needs to sort and that's it. Drains are the responsibility of WWA - waste water authority
