Hi people, can anyone advise me on a bath i just bought, its a aqualine 1600x700 straght shower bath, it came with adjustable feet etc but no wooden base to fix feet to, basically im not sure if it should have one with it or not as the base is about 20mm thick, any advise will be very much appreciated.

Hi, depending on the base your attatching to ie: floor boards (screw legs to floor boards) or if concrete/cement/screed etc a good idea is to use a piece of marine ply at least 12ml and lay it in the area to recieve the bath and secure that individually using the correct fixings for the type of floor.

When the base is secured you can then be sure that minor adjustments of the bath position and legs won't cause a headache. As you will have used a thick piece of ply as the base you can use longer screws via the legs.

Support is the key. Remember though to think of the depth of your side panel or if your tiling it in then no real problems eh!

Good luck:)

The wood to which you refer is normally covered in a layer of fibre glass on the base of the bath. It is important to read the instructions and select the correct length of screws from the fittings pack. You then simply screw the legs on through the fibre glass and into the wood.
