I don't really know much about plumbing so I'm looking for some advice on this ...
We have an airing cupboard with the following boiler and I think tank on top?
The last plumbers we had that did some work cut the lid of the tank on top as it wouldn't fit with the pipe, this leaves big gaps where you can clearly see the water in the tank ..
I think this has caused the water in the tank to become very unclean and it looks brown .. (this is without the makeshift lid from above)
Is it safe to be in this state? Is open water a magnet for bugs and bacteria and should the lid on top be tight, secure and properly fitting?
I'm not too sure the last plumbers finished the job off well but looking for a second opinion, many thanks!
