1. Am I right in saying that the only showers you can install on a system using a combi boiler are electric showers and mixer showers? This being because power showers shouldn't be used because they would pump mains pressure water. If so..

A) Why can't you pump mains pressure water (especially if you've poor pressure) ? Or is it just because you can't give the power shower dedicated hot and cold feeds which is it's requirement.

B) What are the ways of going about installing a decent shower on a combi that produces insufficient pressure?

C) Would the only point of an electric shower on a combi system be to gain sufficiently good pressure by using the mains cold rather than relying on the combi-heated hot?

D) If a customer asked you to install a bathroom, on a combi and she'd bought a mixer shower that is said to be suitable for combis...would you do a test for pressue/flow to see if it meets the instructions' criteria or would you take it on face-value?

2. When toilet pan bolts are too rusted to unscrew and too flush with the pan surface to hacksaw, would you and have you drilled them out? And have you any tips? And did you have success?

Hi water tight , can you please clarify what you mean by using an electric shower on a combi? are you meaning power shower as the post seems a bit confusing ?

A it is illegal and you neighbours will get mad

B What bar pressure is insufficient? forget about the shower and think about the combi and mains pressure entering the property.

C electric showers heat thier own water that is the whole point! cold mains in warm mains out!

D take a reading it takes 5 mins

2. drill it out !

On another note do you have a boss you could ask these questions too or a lecturer at college ....just wonderring.
