Hi,

Need a little advice please!
I'm a bit of a novice and need to purchase a shower mixer for the wetroom ensuite I'm currently fitting.I'm after a concealed 2 way thermostatic chrome mixer and have found some pretty well priced units at companies like Bathempire & Bathroomcash&carry for around £150 -200, I'm just interested what the difference is between on of these units and say a Mira. Is there such a thing as good a decent budget manufacturer. Is there anything I should look out for if I do purchase a cheaper unit like if components are accessable after fitment etc.

Any advice would be appreciated as they project budget is getting a bit wild!!!!!

Regards
Darren

my advice would be to fit awell known make such as mira or bristan or grohe. cheap makes are more than likely made in china and spares will be rarer than hens teeth.

As said i find bristan good value and good after service. Mira good for top end price, but dont rate aqualiser. And ive been plumbing for about 17 years.

Mira excel is pricey but can be picked up from ebay reasonably. Great for spares if anything goes wrong down the line and may mean not having to do a refit in a few years time. Bristan can be cheaper and have good spares availability too. Just my experience.

Thanks

Joe
