Hi,

I got a quote to install a shower pump the other week from a well reviewed plumber but when they came to install they sent someone else round who didn't even know what needed doing. They've installed the pump without putting a flange on the top of the hot water cylinder, their soldering was a bit sloppy with solder on the pump itself as well as the electrical cable from the pump, and now I've noticed tiny bits of debris coming out of some of the taps. I can't tell exactly what it is though. Does it sound like it's been installed incorrectly?

Would probably need more information/photos, but if you’re not happy, then I’d be getting in touch with the plumber whom actually quoted for the work, give him a chance to put things right - I’m sure they’ll want this rather than a bad review.

It's the debris in the water I'm most concerned about. Picture attached.

That's a plastic jug with some of the debris at the bottom.

I am afraid when carrying out work on existing pipework it is not unusual to disturb debris attached to the wall of the pipe this usually flushes away but in a shower pump install may well end up in the mesh filter that protects the pump its not possible to say if you've got a decent job without pictures of the cylinder and pump.
