customer called me , wants me to go over to fit a new bathroom, he wants a shower pump fitted, the hot water cylinder is in the room next to the bathroom so at about same level as shower valve would be, and I take it that the header tank is in the attic,, do I need a positive head or negative head pump? any recommendations on pressures or manufactures? ill go down the route of an Essex flange. also does the pump need to be a certain height etc? thanks

negative head, 1.6 if 1 shower, higher if customer wants high pressure or big shower! I always use surrey flange as dont need to drill cylinder!! I hate Essex flanges!! Salamander or monson for me!! Mira for ceiling fed!! positive head must be at base, negative can be anywhere I believe!!

you need tanks to be above shower head by roughly 300 mm to use a positive pump any less then go for negative most pumps will say to be fitted on floor in airing cupboard and require a dedicated cold feed from the tank, provided the is air for cooling if the bath backs on to the airing cupboard it can go under the bath
