Shower tray waste help

Hi all im new to this forum and would much appreciate some help.

Im currently building a new house and will shortly install 3 x low profile shower trays on the first floor. Each tray sits directly on top of 22mm chipboard flooring and rather than fit rising plinths to each tray I want to sit the shower trap through the floor and run the waste out from underneath.

Can any body advise me where I can find shower traps with an extended neck, with standard size shower traps the waste outlet is obstructed by the chipboard flooring.

Hi thanks for your response, I guess I could cut a channel out of the chipboard to feed the waste, I didnt really want to do this if I could help it, do you know if its possible to obtain shower traps with longer necks?

Maybe it's just me (usually is!) but if you cut a hole and fit normal shower bottle trap, the pipework will go under the floor anyway (at around joist level). Can't see how this won't work in your situation.

I usually cut a hole about 2-3" larger than the bottle trap and leave a 3" or so channel around 8" long pointing away from the bottle trap in the direction of the waste pipe. This is done so there's access to tightening the trap to the pipework.

Then check for leaks.

Then fit shower tray.

Most difficult part is getting the shower trap nearly horizontal.

As above, cut out a bigger hole, you really dont want an extended neck on a shower trap beneath the floor as it means the trap outlet will be lower and you may not be able to get the required fall on the pipework.
