I am after a Shower pump to run 1 mixer shower and 1 bath/shower mixer but not sure which to get. Will a salamander RHP50 be man enough or do I go up to a RHP75? Does it need a whole house pump for just 1 bath tap? im guessing it does as they could still run 1 either hot/cold seperatly which would not do a shower pump any good?

Is there only salamander any other decent makes out there might be a bit cheaper?

RHP50 should be fine for that, unless you have some really fancy drench shower head/body jet set up.

You are right about going for the whole house and not just a standard shower pump.

The only other make I would recommend would be Stuart Turner, and thats likely to be more expensive.

I'd go with a ST too, they're leaps ahead of any other pump IMO

I would have the Salamander ahead of of the Stuart Turner, although accepting that the latter make fine pumps.

In what way do you see ST being better Tom? I know that they use more brass (although Salamander now have a good brass range) but we all know that brass is not necessarily the best material for all plumbing.

I've never changed a Stuart turner pump. Even managed to repair a 12 year old shower mate once. Swapped loads of salamanders.

There are obviously different factors at work here but the st pumps just look and feel better to me.

Salamander pumps from my experience of them do give good service if fitted correctly. That's the problem that most are piped wrong & often in wrong location & drawing air in or too hot water. I fitted a cheap CT 50 Salamander for my brother to replace 2 single pumps about 7 years ago. It does one shower & a basin & the original supplies are completely wrong yet the pump has never failed.
In saying all that they do feel inferior to Stuart & Turner, but it should be noted that other pumps were actually made by Stuart & Turner (I think Mira & Aqualisa were)

Right I have been over to the job to pick up the key and I have had a look at the showers, As the head is over 2" it looks like I need the RHP75 (Bit of a bugger as I priced up the job a few weeks back, Should of asked this question before hand save me a bit of hassle).

Now next problem is the tapping on the cylinder is 15mm is this going to be a problem as salamander say to pipe up in 22mm. I cant fit a flange in the top (essex/surrey I can never remember which is which) as its 22mm tapping off cylinder. Then do I pipe up in 15or 22mm to the bath/shower mixer? the shower on its own I know 15 will be sufficient but for the bath will that be fine? Also all the instructions show is the pump providing to the whole house so the cold feed goes straight into the pump I am only having the bath and shower running off it so I'm guessing I will have to run it off its own feed to the tank.
