Hi,

Block of flats with vertical stack rising through the building. The toilet in each flat has a horizontal soil pipe extending from the back connecting to the stack. Do building regs allow connection of the sink waste to the horizontal soil pipe, i.e. before it connects to the stack? If yes, where can I buy a connector for attaching to a horizontal cast iron soil pipe, which allows the connection of sink waste?

Thanks

Use a strap boss and fit an anti syphon trap to the basin

To connect into cast iron, you will need to cut out a section with a hacksaw, then put in a boss using rubber couplers with jubilee clips.

Thanks for the replies. To clarify its kitchen sink waste not basin waste if that matters. Need to lower the connection point to the stack to get adequate fall on sink waste. At the moment it goes straight into the stack at a high level. It seems thn it can be done but my concern was if building regs allow.
