I have a small chip in the inner bowl of my toilet (caused by a perfume bottle dropping in it) just above the waterline and was wondering if this needed to be repaired and by what type of trades person if it does need to be repaired... Any help or advice would be much appreciated

Its unlikely to cause any problems as its above the water line.

If you want to fix it, just wait until its dry, mix up some araldite or similar epoxy adhesive, apply and smooth across, let it dry. Won't improve the appearance but will keep the water out of the (now) unglazed bit of porcelain.

If you want to fix it and have it looking good, try the Cramer chip repair kit.
