Smelly saniflo macerator

Evening all,

I have a customer complaining about a macerator I fitted last year. It's fed by a basin, shower and wc. Apparently the lady uses it on a morning, washes her hands, then has a shower. After her shower there's a smell coming from the macerator. Having spent my career doing my best to avoid macerators I'm at a loss to explain why this is happening. Any advice appreciated.

my guess would be its sucking a trap from either the basin or the shower when its finished / dregs

That's what I thought but she's adamant the smell is coming from the macerator and not the traps. I guess I'll have to see for myself.

IF basin and shower empty into macerator then the hot water is disturbing the carp inside. There should be an air vent for you to stick your nose over and prove.

I always find it best to be there in the room whilst the lady takes a shower of course.
