hello ive got a customer that needs a soak away that needs bring up to regs got the building control coming on monday itll be helpfull for a a heads up on the subject. cheers u beauties

whats the craic,
what is the soakaway for exactly.??????

this is what i know , if it helps.
its simply a hole sited well away bfrom building.generally ther filled with bricks/rubble.its used to recieve surface water.used when there is insufficient surface water drainage pipes.local authorities should be notified of its use.they would tell u the spec. i know that the minimum distance from house is 5m.its size should be enough to drain 10/12mm of rainfall over the area.for example-the minimum size of a soakway for an area of say , 125m2 should b 125 x .0012m = 1.5m3.this measurement is taken from the top of the pipe coming to the drain.
