i know this one keeps cropping up from time to time but can someone give me a definitive answer.

Have a builder who wants me to run an above ground soil pipe into a stack on the other side of the house. I'm pretty sure we can get the fall but the run will be greater than 6 m which as far as I was aware is the maximum run length. Can someone confirm this for me??

all my college books say 6 but I wondered if there were any exceptions?

sorry don't do much soil work

cheers

Matt

Sombody will correct me but cant you extend the maximum once youve vented it ?

I think we're going to have to try a different route as I cannot see this woman wanting a small stack in her super posh en suite

Sorry missed your point with it. I don't do much soil work. Where are you talking about venting it? When it is external it is immediately into the soil stack. Are you saying that the vent on the SVP is adequate to extend past 6m

I'm sure you can if you put an AAV at the end of the run, but as you say it may not look great. A 6m run might be tricky to get your fall on as well.

I always work to the 6m rule. I'd be looking at going under ground with that and aav on a short section above toilet tee.
