My gas fire which is only about 1 year old has sooty deposits on the glass front, also I have noticed sooty deposits around the fireplace and on the walls.
If I clean the glass, I can see soot building up again within a couple of days.
When the fireplace and fire were installed, a new liner was fitted in the chimney, a smoke bomb test was done, and the work done by a Corgi reg. fitter.
Can anything be done to stop this soot build up?.

Agree with gas man, do not use the fire again until it has been checked out. Sooty deposits on the wall sounds deadly.
