Spark coming from water line

The main water line, which is metal, has a spark/light coming from it that is hot to the touch. This was noticed when we turned on our dryer and other items as well. It would light/heat and then stay on for a short period of time. Obviously we find this very dangerous. Does anyone know what does this mean?

TBH I don’t understand the terminology - best get a local spark to investigate
