special tool?

I am looking for the tool that crimps the fittings for PER plastic water pipes, or possibly PEX as it is known in the UK, I have seen a crimping tool available on the net, but thought it was very exspensive, around 75 quid, is it a good price? I only have about 8 fittings to put on and consider this a stumbling block? is there another way round this issue?🙄
