I've only installed a couple and not for people I've heard from since. Done loads of basin ones. Jamming up aside, anyone know if bath ones are less reliable or holding water in? Got a woman who says last plumber tried two diferent types and both - after only being in for a short while - no longer hold water in.

Just bad luck? Any recommendations?

I installed a couple of Bristan basin ones (£25!!) thinking they'd be better but so far the only one I've been back to change. Although since the whole works pops out and they have 5 year guarantees not much of an issue.

Cheers.

I use the mcalpine ones where if anything goes wrong you simply buy the plug , the spring part is in the plug not in the waste mechanism, very simple idea.

With things like this it has to be quality over price. After all, cust is paying :)

can't normally go wrong with mcalpine and poofix stock them so will give it a punt.
