Hi,
I'm an Aussie (still in shock after last night's game against Germany) just returned to London after living & working in France for 8 years. I've been building bathrooms for over 10 years. Specialising in wet rooms.
I recommend using Wedi or Marmox products for wet room construction & always using 24mm ply for base floor boarding over joists. 18mm will not last the distance (especially with electric underfloor heating). I have been called to replace 2 bathrooms where this has been the case, tiles popping up, grout cracking etc. For bigger bathrooms where the floor exceeds 5 sq metres its always a good idea to include an expansion joint, which can be easily & seemlessly done now using an exact colour coded silicon.
I have used "on the level" shower trays which work well if the joinery is done to near enough milimetre precision.
Please don't hesitate to contact me about any tiling or wet room questions you may have.
Have a good week.
Cheers,
Stevo
