I need to replace a plastic 30 gallon storage tank in a cupboard but due to restrictions I can only get a 25 gallon tank to fit the space, will this affect the flow to the hot water taps? The hot water cyl is directly below the storage tank in the same cupboard,it is a downstairs flat so everything is on the one level, can anyone offer advice on this?
thanks John

Personally I think you will be fine with the flow as the head of water is the same but im sure some more qualified than I may have an opinion on this.Plenty of Scottish boys on here to give you some advice, may even be local to you.

don't see a problem with a smaller tank other than it will run out sooner if running a bath etc.

size of the tank wont effect the pressure if its at the same height, flow should be the same if piped up the same way.

I have used 28mm pipe from storage tank to cyl and came off cyl with 22mm,how soon can i reduce to 15mm to get decent pressure to taps,no bath just kitchen and bathroom sinks ?

changing the pipe to 15 will reduce preause its the hieght of the water that determines preasure
