Strange Water Inlet Valve

Hi all,

Our boiler water pressure has dropped and I need to refill to get it to work again but the valve on the water inlet pipe is very odd and I can't find a tool or key to turn it.

Does anyone recognize this and know what and where I can get a key?

Any help, much appreciated.

Haven’t you got an external filling loop ?perhaps you could upload a couple of pictures of your system

That's the isolation cock there maybe two taps underneath that say closed you need turn those

Hex key will fit but will not fill your boiler.
You have been watching the wrong YouTube that was a combi.
You will have a external filling loop as others have stated.
Have you got an F22 ?
If so what you going to top it back up to?

Here are pictures of the boiler, there are two tap valves in the holes in the wooden panelling. Do you think that is the filling loop?

Can we have a pic of what is behind the 2 holes?

I can’t take a pic but behind the holes are a single copper pipe in each with a black plastic handle valve tap

That's it, they both go on untill it's between 1/1.5 bar then BOTH off again.
If the pressure dropped on its own then you've got another fault but topping up will get it running for now

The tool is a 4mm alan key but as others have said you shouldn't need to turn those off.
The Boiler looks to be due a service?

I was surprised to learn that those two taps were the filling loop. As you suggested, opening those has brought the pressure back up to normal range.

Much much appreciated we can have a hot shower again..

I will be getting someone out to do a service especially if they spot anything causing it to drop but I appreciate the help from everyone to get us up and working again.

Take a quick look around your rads and pipework. See if there are any weeps or drips.
