I'm installing a Heatguard Planer 330 4 in 1 TMV (blender valve for us oldies) on Tuesday in a sports pavilion. It's been specified that it has to be this model and I can't believe the price.....

£1,090.40 plus VAT!

Mega expensive TMV and I'll be giving it a wee polish at that price when I'm finished!

EDIT, it's the 430 4 in 1 model, not the 330 and it has 28mm connections.

wow thats expensive what does it do ?
TMV=Thermostatic Mixing Valve. It mixes hot and cold supplies in the valve and sets the outlet temperature of the hot water supply at a controlled temperature. It's used to prevent scalding and to control Legionnares Disease. The one I'm fitting is for a multi shower installion.
Two standards exist, TMV2 for domestic and TMV3 for Hospitals and other critical installations.

I've had ones like that before. It's got a high specification. But it does break and jam quite easy.

I've fitted other models before and I've looked into this ones failings. As such I'm buying the full service kit at £80 to go with it so that when ot breaks down I can deal with it and not have a sports pavilion put out of action.

Thanks for your input SimonJohns.

Have a wee look at the TMVA website for full info on TMV's. A law is being introduced shortly to make fitting of these compulsory on all new installations. There is a useful PDF guide for download for newbies showing the hot water temperature to be supplied to appliances.
