Hi all...

I have a SwitchMaster BlueBox attached to my central heating. All of a sudden it's started ticking and the dial moves clockwise from Hot water to Central Heating to central heating and hot water.. Then when the heating kicks in the ticking and turning of the dial stops..

Should I be worried about this? Also the BlueBox is in my room and the ticking is driving me mad during the night.

Any help is welcome.

Thanks
Leon

I'm afraid this valve is on its way out.
They are no longer available so you will need to fit another kind(I only recommend Honeywell.
The pipework and wiring will both need to be altered

When replacing the Switchmaster VA1 (6 wire) type motorised valve with the Honeywell V4073A (5 wire) or similar follow these simple instructions:

Place a link between the terminals you remove the Switchmaster Red and Orange wires from, then connect the Honeywell Orange wire to any one of those terminals.

Connect the Honeywell Blue (N) wire to the same terminal you removed the Switchmaster blue wire from.

Likewise connect the Honeywell Earth wire to the terminal you removed the Switchmaster Earth wire from.

The White wire on the Honeywell should be connected to the terminal which the Switchmaster Yellow wire was removed from.

The Grey wire of the Honeywell should be connected to the terminal the Switchmaster White wire was removed from.

Hope this helps
