Would you guys ever consider this? Off to look at a half finished ensuite today in the nice town we flyered the other day. Dont usually do them but the guy has lots of work needing done.

Not a straight forward question. Need an idea of why it's unfinished. Fall out over money, cust a bit of a bell. last guy was clueless etc etc. I'd have to go see and get the feel of it. The last one like this was a thermal store and a bathroom, 90% first fixed but the previous plumber had a fall and needed an op on his back. He came to site the first morning I was there to go through what was what.

Also need to consider issues with work done to date, you being the last guy in will be responsible.

Would say you would have to do it on day rate not price as would need a good half day to inspect all that has currently been done, ax Simon said try to find out the story or get a feel for what the customer is like

Well went over today and he seemed a decent chap. I have to say that if he did tile his floor himself I would take my hat off to him. It's probably the best tiled floor I've ever seen someone else do, including all the professional tilers work I've seen.

He had a gas fitter out recently but he fell out with him as the guy was telling him that a motorised CH zone valve letting some water by is normal. Rads are heating up a bit when HW is on (it's a normal condensing boiler on an S-Plan system with unvented hot water cylinder). The guy is an engineer and wasn't buying it.

Quick question for all, he also says that when the CH heats up from cold, there is a whistling noise that comes from the airing cupboard. Only happens when CH is switched on, if HW is on instead then nothing happens. There is an bottle air vent in the airing cupboard which was closed completely so I opened it up as it's an automatic air vent after all. Will see if that does it but does anyone else have any ideas?

Never come across it before.

His work in the en-suite looks grand to be honest, so I'm happy to take it on but will charge a bit of a premium for it I think.
