Hi there,
I have never checked my tank stat ever since I have lived here for a number of years. I could not really see it properly anyways, so I took a picture of it, and now I can see that it is set to 35 or 36 degrees. I am not sure if this is correct, good bad etc... but, what I do know is..... When my boiler warms the hot water, it is not as hot as when the immersion heats the hot water...

So, as I am in the process of installing Stuart Turner Shower Pump, and their spec says 60 degrees max, I am obviously very safe right now. This stat is very close to the bottom of the tank. I want to increase the temp without going too far. I realise that the 60 degree max is at the top of the tank, so how should it be set to at the bottom?

Also, I guess this stat is nothing to do with the immersion heater as that I know heats the water ouch hot..!!

Hi

Yes your tank stat is wired to the boiler so the immersion heater will not be affected and will have its own stat

The Tank stat should be about a third of the way up the cylinder and should be set at around 55 degrees to obtain 60 degrees at the top of the cylinder

i agree you should turn up the tank stat although it should be to 60 degrees to avoid the chance of legionnaires disease and other bacteria
