tanking. Is it ok to just seal everything with plastic.

Hi All,
I am looking to take my bath out and fit a shower. Regards to tanking. Is it ok to just seal everything with plastic rather than just paint tanking slurry? Thanks in anticipation,

If you can find something that will create a waterproof seal and then be sufficient to stick what ever your tiles/wall panels too then sure. Most installations don't have any tanking but that isn't to say that is the right thing to do.

Thank you very much for your reply. I will try and make sure everything is watertight and the plastic will be just precautionary.

I'll be curious to know what you do as what I was getting at is I'm not sure of anything that can fixed onto while still remaining waterproof
