Been a bit quiet on here lately. Granted some of you may not have noticed.

Got a lot of work on at the minute which is good as it's keeping my mind occupied!

Going through a tough time with family & friends.

My Dad is currently going through a divorce with his current wife. As much as a witch as his wife is, don't like to think of my Dad being on his own at his age. Not to mention he's 2 years from paying off the mortgage on his house which he's now having to sell as neither can afford to stay on there on their own! Thankfully they've no kids together so no young ones to get hurt by the separation.

As well as this, my best friends Dad is going in for a major op next week to have a "lump/cyst" removed from his bowel. He previously had several cysts removed successfully a couple of years ago but one remained as they couldn't remove it under normal procedures. It has caused him no end of problems since & the doctors have finally said they will remove it through surgery as it could be cancerous. We're all absolutely bricking it, as much as we tell each other it will all be okay & it's the best thing to have it removed, it's worrying when the docs say he will be off work for 3 months minimum to recover!

Makes you realise how precious life is & how sometimes we're taking things too seriously & need to chill out & make the most of what we've got.

Anyway, there's always worse off than me as I'm aware. Just needed to put write it down to help get my head round it all. Thanks for reading guys.

Sharing stuff normally lightens the burden so hopefully you feel a bit better for it.

Hope things turn around for you so, Rich x

We're always here to lend an ear Tom. It often helps to unload on someone unconnected.

All the best mate, if ever you want mine, or anyone's number, just ask.

Ditto Tom. If you ever need a sympathetic ear, always at the end of the phone...

Huge thanks for taking the time to read & even reply guys.

Your sentiments are greatly appreciated.

Chin up Tom, its good to share the load so don't keep it all in......things will improve i'm sure.....Gary.

a winge in time stops problems down the line, however I just get called an old git :) we are all there for each other in the end even on line.

we all say it but few of us take it seriously you never know whats around the corner in the blink of an eye your whole life can change

Just an update for those interested!

My best friends Dad had his op to rumour the unknown "cyst" from his bowel on Friday!

Back up on to the ward yesterday! Tired as would be expected. Lump been sent away for analysis as to what it actually is. Earliest he'll be out all being well is Wednesday, latest Friday! Then it's just a long road to recovery & lots of rest for him.

Thank you again for reading guys. Keeping positive at the minute!

As for my Dad, well he's being a stubborn bugger & sitting tight in the house for 2 years until the mortgage is paid off! He tells me that way she'll get less then than she would now!!

Further update!

Best friends Dad was discharged today. Apparently he was ready to leave at 4am this morning. I think he'd manage to successfully annoy the nurses enough by then!! Still a long way to go yet but it's a positive step!

Happy New Year all,

Have had some fantastic news today!

My best friends Dad has been given the all clear for cancer at this stage. The lump they removed was indeed cancerous, but subsequent tests on other sites have come back negative to it spreading anywhere else!

He will still have regular visits to the Doc's for check up's etc as per normal procedure after such operations but all is looking extremely good.

We're all so relieved & glad that he has had been given the all clear.

Again, thank you all for your support & kind words.

Spending the last few days with the family & making the most of it before I go back to work. Take care all.
