Anyone fitted one
What have they changed to make it lighter?

New Logic launched for 2015. Different gas valve but the big difference (and probably why it's lighter) is that the brass water sections have been replaced with the plastic Grundfos waterset.

I'm seriously disappointed with this TBH as my main selling angle for Ideals is that they're all brass and copper, none of this plastic carp...

PS - Scott, not fitted one but saw it last week as I was there for a course.

My rep sounded disappointed by the change as well as I think it is a key selling point.

Although his reply was that apparently, they carried out tests and found the plastic statistically more reliable than the brass!? How I don't know, never seems brass pin hole like the plastic ( or fibre reinforced composite as the call it!) does.

Not much difference between the independant + and logic + now from what I can see, apart from price of course. We tend to push the Vogue anyway which is staying as is.

Wots your opinion on the vogue nostrum , just out of curiosity ??

Very good Kris, very similar to a Vaillant but more competitive. They have made the display and diagnostics very user friendly which the vaillant wasn't. Same isolating valve set as the logic which aren't great in my opinion, and the flues are the same crap. Other than that though, easy to install and maintain (not that I'll be touching them with the 10 year warranty) simple design.

Tend to steer away from cast aluminium heat exchangers like in the logic were possible, not a huge fan.

Didn't even now got 4 next week

They claim it's now 1kg lighter
I think there is a different pump also for the 2015 regs change

i saw them last year at a trade evening held by ideal. they have the same grundfos water set as the pro combi exclusive. basically it was changed because it was found to be more reliable than the brass water set of the logic as it could cope with dirty ch water better and they have the new energy efficient pump. TBH it seems all boilers are going this way so will still keep fitting them. although i do try and push the vogue these days very nice boiler.
