Morning hope your all well.

So , I was at a flat that I am doing the whole kiboodle on last eve, and basically the architects of the owner, had got the cupboard dimensions wrong for the only viable place to fit the combi boiler & put a flue out from, only by 120mm lol..

Anyway I have been left with about 260mm maybe 280mm at a push , and have been looking at both the Glow worm flexicom and the intergras compact 24, both have suitable output for hot water and heating, as it is is five rads in total, nothing major size wise either in terms of rads , biggest room requiring something around 3kw when calculating !

So that said, I have installed neither of these, but as you look at the cupboard where the boiler needs to go , the flue would need to go out immediately to its left horizontally , both of these units from info that the respective sites have on them , do horizontal flueing yes??, but I am wondering as I cannot see clearance dimension on the intergras site, if there is anything I need to be aware of, need to do some recommendations sharpish, and have not had this issue before, the architect mentioned electric combi, but having read the fuel cost to run, especially in a cold scottish winter I think this would be prohibitive currently, and want to really use gas as a result .

So any info would be really appreciated

oh cupboard I have is 280 to door front when closed and about 600 wide, and plenty on height, It is the flueing I am concerned about mainly, and of course depth ..

cheers

L

you need to know the flue centre line measurement, so you know where to drill the core, The flue also has to have a fall back to the boiler of 2 degrees, the further away from the termination wall the more exaggerated this will become

thanks for the reply, neither of these I think are an issue (unless I am missing something), I am more concerned with whether I can go off at a 90 on both these units direct from the units flue terminal, simple I know, but trying to be prudent.

Run back is not an issue, as I have a lot of height, and decent width to play with ! and suitable clearances outside, unless the flue clearances and larger than the usual !

Do you mean 90 off the top of the boiler ? if so that is a standerd Horizontal flue for most boilers ! Flexicom can also go direct from rear to outside if space is a problem.

yeah exactly, just in case there was any spurious reasons they did not , have not installed them previously, but aye thanks for that jts , appreciate that info.

will see what prices I can get now !

Stay clear of the intergras unless your offering them a service contract and are willing to look after it throughout its future lifespan whatever that might be lol

Just had a look and the Flexicom 15hx dimensions are as follows....

Height - 600mm
Width - 375mm
Depth - 280mm

Clearances required are as follows....

Above - 20mm
Below - 150mm
Sides - 5mm
Front to a removable surface, ie: door - 5mm

Hope this helps.

cheers guys appreciate the feedback , I look into these two in a wee bit :) sent the client some info to digest this morning ... so that will keep em busy for now , give me some more time to research..

Vokera are no worse than any other.
There are a lot of them in Scotland and the local feeling from engineers who are working on them frequently is, they are rubbish. The only Vokera I've found which is ok to work on is the Linea.
