Has anyone on here any experience of using one of these ? look a handy , tho expensive , piece of kit ?

if you intend to do leak tracing or the like quite useful but otherwise another gatherer of dust in the shed

Agreed , however it is just the sort of thing I would have bought a few years back....and regretted later losing a ton on re-sale after tiring of the dusting regime.

if you need to see what part of a rad is hotter than another, use your hand

Good sales tool for flushing . Also good to use on a cold night to highlight deficiencies in insulation . We used to sub this out to alba testing on bigger jobs.

I'd love one, but i'm a youngster so the more gadgety the better for me!

Expensive now, but in a couple of years they'll be dirt cheap on eBay. Like inspection cameras!

Thats exactly what I was thinking about

I hope so, because when they are I'll have one. Maybe just because I like the Arnie film 'Predetor' and most of that is shot through one!! :)

They are clever but for a heating engineer, they're just an expensive toy.

Useful for finding heating pipes underfloor etc when you need to see where you need to trace pipe work for new connection but you would need enough jobs to make it worthwhile.
