Thermostat on burner low but temp indivator much higher

This thermoastat is much higher than the dial says. Correct.me if I'm wring but that doesn't seem right...

It's been like that for days so it's not like I've just turned it down...

Try turning it up to 90, see if it moves, if not, I’d say one of them is faulty.

No change. It's getting as hot it's setting off the thermal warning alarm in the boiler room. Wee bit concerning eh
